Michael Jackson video game expected by holidays

Either to capitalize on the king of pop’s popularity or to honor him after his death, Ubisoft has announced they are making a Michael Jackson video game. The game will reportedly be built around Jackson’s signature dance styles, and players will be able to dance along with him to songs like “Billie Jean” and “Beat It.”A rep from Ubisoft told MTV News that there is not yet a title or release date for the game, but it is currently in development. The rep said that “the game is based upon performance (so both singing and dancing),” leading MTV News to believe it will feature a unique gaming system like Guitar Hero or Dance Dance Revolution. The game is being developed with the consent of Michael Jackson’s estate and all involved hope it will continue to perpetuate the star’s legacy.

Estate co-executor John Branca told MTV News in a statement that, “Michael always pushed every limit when it came to technology to give his fans unforgettable entertainment experiences, whether it involved his videos, his recordings or his concerts.” Co-executor John McClain said, “This game is a natural extension of what he would be doing today to raise his artistry to even greater heights for his fans of all generations.”
The game will likely emerge around the holidays and will be available on Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, XBox 360, Playstation 3 and PSP.by:Emily zemler
